Co-Operative Learning

We have continued to learn how to work co-operatively. This week we did a fun technology task with a partner. We needed to design a bridge that would be 3 ice block sticks long and support the weight of two motorcycles. Well, lego ones anyway! Our materials were… 10 ice block sticks, a piece of paper and two strips of cello tape.

It was heaps of fun and wow did some learning happen!

We learned that when working with a partner we need to….

• Share ideas - Two brains are better than one
• Show respect - All partners listened to each others ideas and treated them as they would like to be treated.
• Compromise - If we can't agree then we need to find a solution that we both agree on.

After we had constructed our bridge, it was time to test! It was amazing how different our designs were. Even though some worked and some didn't, each group co-operated and made sure that we worked to the best of our abilities. What a fun afternoon in Room 3!
